Day 66: A hidden gem

I don't think I've noticed Balcombe Place before ... just off Little Collins Street.

A tiny alley running behind the shops on Elizabeth Street, and full of rubbish bins servicing the Elizabeth Street shops.

But it's also full of delightful poster art ... and a smattering of shoes hanging from a pole between buildings.

I've heard shoes mean a drug dealer's close by or a death, but I'm not sure ... it just seems whimsical to me.

Day 65: Irony anyone?

Curious what you find as you wander around ...

Cocker Alley opposite the police station on Flinders Lane.

Some bright spark has stencilled this opposite ... one of several places I've seen this particular stencil.

Day 62: Love Union Lane

I love Union Lane and it's my preferred way to get to Melbourne libray or Flinders Street station.

I'm not alone and everytime I go down there more and more people seem to be discovering it.

Day 61: Melbourne Food & Wine Festival 2012

The Food and Wine Festival starts tomorrow.

The banners are out around Melbourne ... these ones year the tram stops in the Mall.

A few friends and I usually get to at least a couple of places. Last year we visited Maha Bar and Grill in the city ... which was pretty good and this year we have a few places on our wish list.

Are you planning to go?

Day 58: Not so hot, hot, hot

After the heat came the blessed release of rain ... I do not enjoy the heat!

The steps of the GPO glistening with water (the GPO which is now a shopping mall and no longer a post office).

Day 57: Hot stuff

So hot again I spent the day under the overhead fan.

How did you stay cool?
